The Sultanate of Oman, represented by State Audit Institution, is participating in the 16th resumed session of the Working Group on Review of the Implementation of the United Nations Convention against Corruption. The session is taking place at the United Nations Headquarters in Vienna from February 17 to 21.

The session will address a number of topics, including the next stage of the UN Convention against Corruption’s implementation mechanism and its sequence based on the topics and details. It will also focus on the performance of the Convention's implementation review mechanism and the progress made in conducting country reviews. Additionally, the session will explore mechanisms to facilitate and support sustainable, adequate, and effective technical assistance in order to strengthen national capacities to prevent and combat corruption.

It is worth noting that the Sultanate of Oman has completed the review of the implementation of the UN Convention against Corruption in the first review cycle of Chapters III (Criminalization and Law Enforcement) and IV (International Cooperation) of the Convention, as well as the second review cycle of Chapters II (Preventive Measures) and V (Asset Recovery) of the Convention.
