With the Participation of 23 Government Companies State Audit Institution Delivers the Training Program “Corporate Governance”

          The training program on “Corporate Governance”, conducted by the Training Center of State Audit Institution kicked off this morning, February 18, and will last for three consecutive days at the Movenpick Hotel Muscat. The opening of the program was under the patronage of Senior audit expert / Sharifa Al Mahrouqi - Director General for Audit of Public Authorities and Service Companies. The program is attended by more than 60 male and female participants from 24 government companies subject to the audit of SAI. The program lectures are delivered by a group of certified trainers from SAI as well as a lecturer from the Oman Investment Authority.

This program aims at understanding the legislative system for corporate governance in the Sultanate of Oman, in addition to identifying relevant international standards, and the role of internal audit systems as well as the governance quality audit in the companies subject to the audit of SAI.

The program includes several theoretical and practical sessions on the emergence of corporate governance, introducing participants to the concepts and practices of governance, in addition to clarifying the role of the Oman Investment Authority in corporate governance, reviewing the means of compliance and evaluation, and discussing several practical cases as well as the results learned therefrom.
