His Excellency Chairman of SAI Conducts a Visit to Khazaen Economic City

Out of the keenness of State Audit Institution to follow up on economic projects and what has been accomplished and achieved of the planned objectives, within the framework of institutional integration with the entities subject to the audit of SAI, His Excellency Sheikh Ghuson bin Hilal Al Alawi, Chairman of State Audit Institution, conducted a visit to Khazaen Economic City in the Wilayat of Barka in Al Batinah South Governorate on October 29, 2024, accompanied by H.E Zahra Mohamed Redha Al Lawati Deputy Chairman for Auditing Authorities, Investments and Companies and a number of SAI specialists, and in the presence of a number of officials from Khazaen Economic City. His Excellency was received by Eng. Kalat Al Bulooshi, Board Chairman of Khazaen Economic City, Eng. Salim Al Thuhli, CEO of Khazaen Economic City, Sheikh Nasser Al-Harthy, Vice President of Operations at Oman Investment Authority and the Chairman of Asyad Board of Directors and Eng. Abdulrahman Al Hatmi, CEO of Asyad Group.
At the beginning of the visit, a presentation was delivered about Khazaen Economic City and the companies it includes that provide packaging, assembly, distribution and manufacturing services, as well as service institutions such as banks and legal and financial affairs offices. The presentation shed light on the roles assigned to these companies and the objectives sought from their establishment, as well as discussed the challenges encountered and ways to overcome them. His Excellency Chairman of SAI expressed his thanks and appreciation to those in charge of Khazaen Economic City for their efforts in improving the performance of this sector to achieve the desired objectives.
The visit concluded with a tour of the city’s facilities, including Khazaen Dry Port and FLAG Logistics Company, followed by a visit to Khazaen Fruit & Vegetable Central Market (Silal) to learn about the mechanisms of exporting, importing and re-exporting vegetables and fruits, and marketing local agricultural products.
